The 40th Anniversary of quality public education at Parkview Public School was an outstanding success with around 600 people flooding through the school gates on Saturday and a packed dinner held at the Stand Axtill Centre on Saturday leaving community members bursting with pride and some a little misty eyed as the reminisced about times past.

The open day at the school featured a huge range of photos and historical items that kept community members engaged, while the Thirsty Sheikhs, School Choir and School Dance Group entertained the large gathering throughout the day before Mrs Margaret O'Leary and Mr William Ingram opened the new hall and Wiradjuri Garden for our community to use.

The evening function was highlighted by a magnificent meal and some fantastic decorations as well as brilliantly entertaining speeches from Mayor of Leeton Shire Paul Maytom, first boys captain Billl Arnold, former student and teacher Dean Whymark, former Principal Robert Norrie and former Assistant Principal Terry McGrath who had the large crowd in raptures for nearly an hour with some extremely insightful anecdotes from his time at the school.

Photos from the day can be viewed on the photo album link on the website, while more information relating to the weekend's activities will be posted in the coming days in the '40th Anniversary' tab.
