Parkview Public School students performed brilliantly at the Riverina PSSA Athletics Carnival in Albury last Friday, recording some outstanding results against stiff opposition from talented athletes from across the Riverina.
Tess Staines has been selected in the Riverina PSSA team to contest the state championships in Sydney in Term 4 after finishing 2nd overall in the 8 Years Girls 100m.
Tess qualified fourth fastest for the final and shaved over 2.5 seconds off her personal best time set out the PPS Carnival in August to finish second in a time of 15.74, just 0.03 behind the Riverina champion. Making this achievement even more noteworthy is the fact Tess is still only enrolled in Year 2!
In other events, the Senior Boys Relay Team(Corey Graham, Eaden Turner, Bradd Staines and Danyon Arnold) won their heat and finished a creditable 16th overall.
In field events, Bradd Staines finished 10th in the Senior Boys Discus while Nakeila Goolagong also finished 10th in the Junior Girls Discus. All students should be very proud of their efforts!
