The LNPSSA Cross Country Carnival was held last Friday, May 13th. All students walked the course (which was sodden to say the least!), becoming familiar with the terrain and small changes to the route. The 8/9 years division commenced the racing action for the day where Parkview PS recorded its first outstanding result. Kelsey Bandy (3) ran an outstanding race to be first across the line in the 8/9 Years Girls age division. Kelsey was suitably pleased at her efforts which set the tone for day. Chelsie Wood-Jordan (4) was placed 4th in the 10 Years Girls 2000m course and in further outstanding results, Alex Pianca (5) was placed 3rd in a very competitive field in the 11 Years Boys 3000m. Chelsea Axtill (6) improved on her 3rd placing last year to finish 2nd in the 12 Years Girls 3000m. All students mentioned will now represent LNPSSA at the Riverina Cross Country Championships held in Deniliquin later this term.
Many other Parkview PS students were placed in the top 10 places of their respective age group. Carley Graham (5) and Tiffany Keech (6) are on standby for the Riverina carnival.
On the back of excellent results, Parkview PS was able to win the Handicap trophy for the fourth consecutive year!! This outstanding achievement was brought about by a talented group of PPS runners who all ran to their potential.
