What Parents Thought of the

Kindergarten 2012 Transition Program

Parkview Public School has enjoyed a fantastic response to the extended Kindergarten Transition Program implemented over the last two years.

Below are some of the thoughts of parents who engaged their children in the program:

Mrs Joanne Robinson(Human Resources Officer at Murrumbidgee Irrigation), mother of two children.

"The extended transition program was a terrific idea. My daughter Chelsea benefitted greatly from the experience. The teachers catered for the individual needs of the children very well, which ensured that Chelsea was able to settle into her new learning environment with ease. This was the second time I had been engaged in the program and on both occasions it made invaluable contributions to the school readiness of my children."

Mr Todd Henman (Electrical Technician, Essential Energy) and Mrs Mardi Henman (Customer Service Advisor, Essential Energy), parents of two children.

"We found the Kindergarten Transition Program to be extremely beneficial. This made the progression to school a lot less daunting for both parent and child. As working parents the opportunity to utilise the provided bus services was wonderful. It ensured our participation in the program and provided ease of mind knowing Raith was picked up and dropped off safely at Pre School. Raith was very comfortable in the school environment and this made his first day stress free."

Mr Gerard Rourke and Mrs Samantha Rourke (Proprietors of Leeton Home Improvement Centre), parents of four children.

"The Parkview Public School Kindergarten Transition Program was just terrific in every way. Everything was thoroughly planned from the classroom organisation right down to the provision of a bus service to get the kids to school, something they looked forward to each week. The extended program gave our children the opportunity to form strong relationships with their peers and teachers before they started school full time. It also allowed the teachers the chance to get to know each child's individual needs thoroughly before they commenced. This was an impressive feature that wasn't possible in shorter programs we have been involved with in the past. Every experience was very positive, we would recommend it to everyone.
