Parkview PS has enjoyed significant success at the LNPSSA Boys and Girls Soccer Knockout hosted last Friday at the Parkview PS Oval and the Leeton Ovals Precinct.
Our girls team won their first LNPSSA title since 2014 after two brilliant performers in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at the Parkview Oval. Their opening game was a tough encounter against an enthusiastic Small Schools outfit, however Parkview's impressive teamwork and high work rate laid the platform for a resounding 10-0 victory. Early attacking pressure from Kristen Bradshaw and Makayla Connell gave Parkview great field position, upon which Molly Gilmour capitalised on after just 3 minutes to put Parkview in front.
More was to come shortly after, two sublime crosses from Tamika Rourke setting Madeline Irvin up for a well finished double inside 7 minutes before Madeline returned the favour for Tamika to score 3 minutes later. Brilliant finishing by Molly Gilmour secured a hat-trick on the stroke of half time following some impressive lead up play that featured Shaylan Protheroe and Brydee Stanton.
Leading 6-0 at half time, the Parkview team continued with their form after the break, Molly Gilmour scoring a 4th goal before Madeline Irvin secured her hat-trick and Makayla Connell chimed in with a brace to make the final score 10-0.

The final was a tight affair against Leeton Public School. A brilliant combination between Tamika Rourke and Madeline Irvin set up a clinical finish from Molly Gilmour to give Parkview a 1-0 lead in just the 2nd minute, however the game became a real battle of defences after that, Parkview well served by a tight defensive unit led by Makayla Bradshaw and supported by Shay Bandy, Tatum Marks, Dakota Boardman and Alayna Croucamp.
Leading 1-0 at the break, Parkview conceded the opening goal of the second half despite the efforts of our hardworking goal keeper Moe Lloyd, however this goal stung the Parkview team into action, with Molly Gilmour's pace proving too much for the opposition as she finished off the excellent work of her team mates further up the ground twice in four minutes to help secure a 3-1 victory for Parkview.

The conclusion of the day also provided some great highlights for the Parkview team with six girls selected to represent LNPSSA at Riverina Championships in late March. Congratulations is extended to Tamika Rourke, Madeline Irvin, Molly Gilmour, Kristen Bradshaw, Makayla Bradshaw and Makayla Connell for being selected in the LNPSSA Representative Team.
