Summer Fattore enjoys the parade!

Not even the threat and eventual delivery of inclement weather could detract from the biggest Book Week Character Parade ever at Parkview Public School today. Over 270 students dressed up in their favourite book characters from across broad range of genres, with everything from superheroes to super villains and every type of character in between present for the occasions.

Parents and community members flocked to the school to enjoy the occasion, braving chilly conditions to share in the creations that were being displayed by the children.

Teachers got into the theme of the day, dressing in a range of crazy costumes which amused the students and community members, and while there were book prizes awarded to some students, all children were winners for participating in another fantastic parade.

Parkview PS Librarian Mrs Cathy Dando was ecstatic with the success of the day. "It has been the biggest Book Week I can remember. The Leeton Shire Council really came to the party with their celebrations during the week, while once again the Parkview community put the exclamation point on everything with an amazing turn out today. The kids looked fantastic; what a wonderful range of characters and costumes we had!

A detailed range of images from the day will be available on the Parkview PS website in coming days.
