Six (6) Parkview students represented Riverina at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships hosted at the Sydney International Athletics Centre last Wednesday and Thursday (October 19 & 20).
The 6 strong contingent was the largest group of students who have represented our community at the State event for 25 years.
We are very proud of the achievements of all of our students in simply quailfying for this level. We did have some amazing results with Riley Bradshaw missing a Gold Medal by a mere 28cm, eventually finishing an incredible 5th in the state, the best individual achievement at State Athletics by a Parkview student since 1998. Shane Lloyd also produced an outstanding effort, placing 9th in the Junior Boys Shot Put! Shane has made massive improvements over the last 2 months with his shot put and can be very proud of his achievements!
Our Junior Girls Relay (Shay Bandy, Tamika Rourke, Jayda Sutton-Travers and Kristen Bradshaw) ran a near PB in finish 31st in the State while Tamika Rourke (32nd in Junior Girls Shot Put) and Riley Bradshaw (15th in Senior Boys Shot Put) all produced performances of which they can be proud.
Thanks is extended to all of the families who provided such wonderful support for the kids both at the Championships and in the lead up to the event.
