Parkview's Boys and Girls Touch Football Teams contested the LNPSSA Touch Football Championships held at the LHS Ovals last Monday. It was another very successful day for our students with our Girls team finishing as LNPSSA Champions for the 4th consecutive year and our boys team losing a tight first round match with Narrandera before accounting for Small Schools in the 3 v 4 playoff game.
Our girls team were super impressive defeating Narrandera Public School 8-1 in their Round 1 game against Narrandera PS setting up a final against Leeton PS who had defeated Small Schools.
From the outset our team was organised in defence thanks to the work of Madeline Irvin, Moe Lloyd and Tamika Rourke in the centre of the field, while attacking bursts from Molly Gilmour, Tatum Marks and Shaylan Protheroe gave Parkview scoreboard ascendency, leading by 5 tries at half time.
More clever play after half time from Makayla Bradshaw and Kristen Bradshaw, well supported by Shay Bandy and Chelsea Paterson helped Parkview extend their lead, taking the title 7-1.
In more good news for Parkview students, 8 children were selected to represent LNPSSA at the Riverina Championships to be hosted in coming weeks. Congratulations is extended to Cody Browne, Tallis McMillan, Shaylan Protheroe, Makayla Bradshaw, Madeline Irvin, Molly Gilmour, Tamika Rourke and Tatum Marks on this achievement.
