Parkview Public School's Girls Soccer team has won the LNPSSA Soccer Knockout competition in a thrilling final against Narrandera PS at the Parkview PS Oval today (Thursday, 26th February).
After defeating Small Schools 5-1 in Round 1, Parkview met Narrandera PS who had disposed of Leeton PS in their Round 1 contest. A well matched contest insued despite the defining goal of the game coming in just the 6th minute courtesy of an outstanding strike from pocket dynamo Tateum Ingram.
Narrandera pushed hard for the equaliser in the final and could well have got the game back on even terms had it not been for some outstanding defence from Hannah Pianca and Kiana Wortley and some brave goal keeping from Shikiah Byrnes. In the end, Parkview held firm, and with some incisive runs from Shakira O'Connell and Kelsey Bandy, the team maintained sound possession to record a narrow victory.

Bree McKellar opened the scoring early and was soon supported by strikes from Ingram, Zoe Locke and Taylah Aliendi to put the game beyond doubt at half time. The second half was a much tighter affair, Shikiah Byrnes netting Parkview's only goal of the second half to run out 5-0 winners.

Earlier in the day, Parkview's boys had a resounding win over Small Schools, qualifying for the decider with an emphatic 5-1 victory. The game was tighter than the scoreline suggested at half time, with Small Schools finding and equaliser late in the first half to cancel out Reece Keech's early strike, however a brace from Jack Quilivan and singles from Nick Santos and Tyler O'Connell ensured Parkview would make the final for the fourth straight year with a 5-1 victory.
