Parkview Public School has recorded some pleasing results at the LNPSSA Rugby League Knockout hosted at the Leeton No.1 Oval yesterday.
On a warm day, Parkview recorded a win and a loss to finish third overall in the competition. In the opening game against Narrandera PS, Parkview started slowly, allowing their opponents to score easily to take a commanding 24-0 lead. The inevitable fight back came, with improved defence led by Dylan Browne and Jack McClure complemented by some incisive runs from Braydon Coghill and Cooper Holmes.
Better field position allowed skilled ball players Tyler O'Connell and Corey Axtill work the team into mulitple attacking positions, with a flood of late tries and some brilliant conversions from O'Connell closing the final margin to just 6.
Final Scores: Narrandera 24-18 Parkview
In the second game of the day against Small Schools, Parkview found itself in a real battle at half time, leading by 2 points. 3 three converted tries in the second half helped Parkview to gain the ascendency against a determined Small Schools outfit to run out comfortable winners. For Parkview Logan Moore, Riley Bradshaw and Braydon Coghill all performed well.
Final Scores: Parkview 28-8 Small Schools
In associated news, Dylan Browne has been selected to represent the LNPSSA at the Riverina Rugby League Championships in May. We congratulate Dylan on this achievement.
