The Annual School Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 10th February 2012
The Parkview PS Annual Swimming Carnival will be held Friday 10th February, weather permitting. Nominations for swimming events will be recorded this Tuesday during house meetings. Students are reminded to think hard about which events they wish to compete in and need not feel pressured to swim in events they do not feel comfortable. Less confident swimmers who are not competing in a competitive race will have the chance to compete in novelty events. These events will be held in the middle sized pool at a convenient time during the day.
What you need to know
Students will need to bring on the day suitable swimming attire, a hat, sunscreen, a towel, recess and lunch. There will be a canteen available on the day at the pool. Due to expected hot weather students will be required to wear a shirt at any time they are not in the water. It is highly recommended that all students bring plenty of water which they must consume at regular intervals across the day.
Permission notes and money must be returned by Wednesday 8th February to avoid a rush on the day of the carnival. Notes will be handed out today outlining transport arrangements and costs.
Your help is needed!
As with any major sporting event, community help is required to ensure the day runs efficiently. If you are able to help please fill in the bottom of your child's permission slip indicating your availability. Any help is appreciated by our students!
Order of Events
You will find attached to next week's edition of Talking Sport a copy of the order of events for the Swimming Carnival. Please encourage your children to bring this on the day as there will be limited programs available on the day.
