After being runners-up in Soccer and Netball LNPSSA Finals this year, Parkview's Girls Touch Football Team proved persistence pays off when they were crowned LNPSSA Champions for the third consecutive year at the Leeton No. 1 Oval recently.
Playing Small Schools in the opening fixture, Parkview's organised defence and expansive attacking play proved pivotal, with Shaylan Protheroe and Tamika Rourke crossing the try line regularly as the Greens defeated a determined Small Schools outfit 8--0.
The final was against Leeton PS who had defeated Narrandera PS in the other Round 1 fixture. Excellent positional play from Madeline Irvin, Molly Gilmour and Moe Lloyd gave Parkview consistently good field position which was again capitalised upon by Protheroe and Rourke, providing Parkview with a 5-0 Half Time lead.
The second half was a more even affair, however Parkview's composure in defence served them well and they recorded a well deserved 7-2 victory to secure the LNPSSA title and progress to the Riverina Quarter Finals of the State Knockout.
Following the final, the LNPSSA Representative team was selected with five Parkview students, Tamika Rourke, Shaylan Protheroe, Molly Gilmour, Madeline Irvin and Moe Lloyd all selected to represent at the Riverina Championships to be hosted during Term 2.
In the boys section of the competition, Parkview also qualified for the final with a sound 10-2 win over a determined Small Schools team. The final was a tight affair that went right down to the wire, with Parkview going down by the narrowest of margins 6-7 to Leeton PS.
Following the final the LNPSSA Representative was also selected with Tyler O'Connell and Cody Browne both earning selection as recognition of their outstanding play throughout the day.
